1 - Prayer Oct 2 - Feast of the Guardian Angels; Prayer Oct 19 - Mass 2 - Issue with National - We reaffirmed our decision to disagree with National on its decision to ask the Vatican to review its policy of requiring celibacy in the priesthood. We reaffirmed our committment to focus our efforts primarily in advocacy of survivors of clergy and religious sexual abuse ( Goal 1 of VOTF), and to support Priests of Integrity (Goal 2). 3 - Communication with the Archbishop - We agreed that any communication we have with Kevin McDonough would be copied to the Archbishop.

Draft Minutes Twin Cities VOTF Steering Council Meeting, May 15, 2008 St Joan of Arc Parish Center Present: Tim P, Shari S, Colin L, Tom G, Christina B, Jim W, Suzanne S (Minutes) Absent : Pat W, Jim A 1. Prayer: Meeting opened with a prayer reflection on Pentecost 2. Eval of April Film Nite: People were eager to gather together for discussion; scheduling was timely given proximity to the Pope’s visit; over 40 in attendance; the depth and quality of discussion was commented on. Next Film Nites: August 14 and Oct 2nd, possibly at Lumen Christi and St Richards.

Attendees: Suzanne Severson, Tim Power, Christina Bumgardner, Colin LaVergne, Jim Whalen, Tom Garvey, Shari Steffen. Christina opened with a prayer called “Crocus Minded”. Shari arranged refreshments for the committee and the film night which followed. Suzanne reported the following: Statute of limitations ‘died’. A cap of 35 years was proposed. As a live bill it could go to the floor. SSNDs: some of our VOTF members met with SSND leadership along with other survivor members.
