Minutes of Twin Cities VOTF Steering Council, July 10, 2008

Absent: Christina B (work committment). 1. Meeting began with a Summer Pslam Prayer 2. Working Groups Reports: • VFRG has a new member starting in July. Group is working well and making good connections. • Goal 2 Group: Suggestion to contact Lee Piche as our newly appointed Vicar General and introduce ourselves. (Note: This was subsequently followed up on). 3. Update on Judge Merz as Speaker: • Set for Oct 26 • Suzanne to write Kevin McDonough about sharing the opportunity and availability of the speaker this weekend to the archdiocese • Tim to contact O’Connell for public presentation of our nomination of him for the National VOTF Priest of Integrity Award regarding his availabillity on Oct 26th • Shari to contact Basilica for venue conformation 4. Upcoming Film Nites on August 14 and Oct 2nd • Shari to contact Lumen Christi or St Richards for availability • Oct 2nd is already confirmned at St Richards • Aug 14 film to be Merz’s address to 2007 natl VOTF convention • Oct 2 film to be Victor Veith’s address to the 2007 NAPSAC convention 5. Archbishop Neinstedt’s response letter to us was discussed 6. NAPSAC film ( to be shown on Oct 2nd) was passed on to another member for viewing. 7. Member mailing: Target mailing had been mid-summer. New date is first week August and should contain focus of Merz’s talk (ie update on what NRßπB has done, Q&A for future work of NRB, and what was the fallout from the Pope’s visit? 8. Future Meetings: Cancelled August 28 meeting in favor of meeting before the August 14 Film Nite. Refreshments volunteered by Jim W. 9.
